The craze for swimming at home is still very much alive. While the initial investment for building a pool may seem significant, it is quickly offset by the pleasure of using it, regardless of the type of pool. To maximize this time spent using it, covering the pool is the solution that provides the best return on investment on several levels.

What is an outdoor and in-ground covered swimming pool?

Pool shutters or pool enclosures are devices that cover and secure the pool. While shutters provide ease of use by limiting maintenance and adding a few extra degrees of temperature to the pool water, enclosures allow swimming regardless of the weather outside. This is why we tend to talk more about a covered outdoor pool when we have a pool enclosure.

There is a complete range of pool enclosures available to suit every budget. Prices vary depending on the enclosure model (the height and size of the enclosure are key factors in the price). Pool enclosures naturally meet the requirements of the NF P 90309 safety standard.

Low shelter
The most discreet of the shelter range but also the most affordable of the Desjoyaux range which offers the same advantages as its elders: a thermo-lacquered aluminum frame, fully telescopic, an optional access door (positioned on the side to allow access to the pool when the shelter is in place…). The low shelter is a very popular product because it offers a very good quality / price / use ratio.

Mid-height shelter
Suitable for pools up to 10m x 5m, the Desjoyaux mid-height enclosure is made up of 4 or 5 elements, depending on the model, which slide open to allow for swimming in the sun. Equipped with an access door positioned on one side, access to the pool is easy, allowing swimming regardless of the weather outside.

Residential shelter
A residential enclosure is a piece of equipment that adds a new dimension to your pool, transforming it into a complementary part of your home. Whether it's a central opening, a pull-out opening, or a shelter attached to your home, there's definitely a residential enclosure for your pool.

What are the advantages of an indoor swimming pool?

While the initial investment to cover an outdoor pool may seem significant, the return on investment is real.

Reduced use of treatment products
A less polluted pool necessarily means a pool that uses fewer treatment products. Similarly, the presence of the shelter avoids the pool having to be completely winterized during the winter and therefore the addition of the winterizing product.

Reduced maintenance tasks
An indoor pool is less exposed to external pollution (leaves, pollen, sand, or insects). Cleaning operations will be shorter and, above all, fewer in number. The absence of a complete winterization also means that restarting the pool in the spring is much simpler than after a complete winterization.

The 3 in 1 product
The pool enclosure is a 3-in-one product because, in addition to its primary function, which is to ensure the safety of the pool, it allows you to extend the swimming season and heats the water (thanks to the heating system) of your pool thanks to the greenhouse effect it provides. This way, you can swim in warmer water before, during and after the summer period.

Having a cover over an outdoor pool optimizes its use and provides greater comfort. An initial investment that can quickly pay off.
