Winterizing your pool is an important operation that you can choose to adjust, depending on the risk of frost in your region and your presence in the residence where the pool is located. Two winterizing options are available to you .
Partial (or active) wintering:
What is it? Partial winterizing allows you to leave your pool open while adjusting the filtration time to the outside temperature. It's essential to ensure the water doesn't freeze: adjust the filtration time accordingly. When the water temperature is below 8°C, algae growth is very rare, and mixing the water through filtration combined with a very light chemical treatment will be sufficient.
In the event of partial wintering, do not forget to remain in compliance with current legislation by protecting your pool with a safety device ( alarm , protective barrier , shelter or flexible and automatic covers ).
Complete (or passive) wintering:
What is it? Complete winterizing involves closing your pool for the winter. First, we recommend thoroughly cleaning the pool. Then, winterize the pump or the entire unit, add the winterizing liquid to the pool water, following the dosage instructions on the container, and then install the winterizing floats.
