Before embarking on the construction of their swimming pool, future owners always fear spending more time maintaining their pool than enjoying it. Who said that maintaining a private pool could be time-consuming, tiring, and expensive? Certainly not the happy owners! As long as a swimming pool is maintained regularly with good water treatment products and in compliance with the instructions provided by the pool professional, pool maintenance is simple and affordable.
Regular maintenance
First of all, regular maintenance requires approximately 30 minutes per week (average time varies depending on the size of the pool). To do this, the following points should be observed:
• The filtration time must be adapted to the water temperature: the filtration duration must be equivalent to half the water temperature. (e.g.: for a water temperature of 26°, the filtration time will be 13 hours). • Water parameters must be checked regularly. The quality of your water and your consumption of cleaning products will depend on these parameters. • The filter media, which retains all impurities, must be cleaned once a week in the case of filter bags or every 6 weeks in the case of a JD MASTER FILT which benefits from greater autonomy (ideal ally for going on vacation). • Finally, it is necessary to clean the waterline with a sponge and the bottom of the pool weekly with a manual broom or an autonomous robot.
These operations, which may seem laborious, are extremely simple and fit naturally into the daily lives of swimming pool owners.
The second fear of future buyers is the financial cost of maintenance, particularly when it comes to green water treatment. However, it is not necessary to completely drain your pool. Green water treatment most often occurs when the pool is saturated with stabilizer and the chlorine no longer works (see: Focus on chlorine treatment ). Solutions for specific situations exist and provide convincing results. To do this, simply contact your Desjoyaux partner, who will remain your best advisor. As you will have understood, simple actions will allow you to avoid problems and additional costs and to enjoy your future swimming pool with peace of mind.
For the proper functioning of a medium-sized swimming pool, three expenditure items must be taken into account: • Water • Electricity • Cleaning products.
If we take into account the reduction in water volume due mainly to evaporation, games and diving, the operation of the filtration pump and the cost of maintenance products, the minimum annual budget to be expected varies between €200 and €300 depending on the size of the pool.
