How does a 100% secure online payment work?

As part of the fight against fraud, for all payments by credit card, La Boutique Desjoyaux has implemented the 3D Secure secure payment system. The 3D Secure system helps prevent any fraudulent transactions. It is a program offered by all French banking institutions, implemented by Visa and Mastercard. To limit the fraudulent use of card numbers, the 3D Secure program will require you to authenticate yourself when paying on our site.

With each payment, an authentication request is automatically sent to your bank. The authentication method depends on your bank. When validating your payment, authentication can be done either through a password, a date of birth, or, most often, a one-time code, received directly on your mobile phone. We remind you that this system, called 3D Secure, which allows you to receive a security code, should not be confused with the security code on your bank card.

Remember, 1 transaction = 1 security code! Each time you try to make a payment, you'll receive a unique, one-time-use code.

Before finalizing your order, we invite you to check that you can receive the authentication SMS (operator restriction, order from abroad, network coverage, etc.).

In summary:

  • Complete your order and enter your bank details.

  • You are redirected to your bank's authentication page.

  • You will then receive an authentication SMS, enter the code received.

  • Your transaction is accepted, and your order is validated.

I'm having trouble authenticating?

If you do not receive the authentication code, we invite you to check that your mobile phone number is correctly linked to your bank card. If this is not the case, we invite you to contact your bank, which will provide your number. Please note that activation of this service takes approximately 24 hours.

How can I check that I am on a secure page?

When you go to the payment page where you have to enter your credit card details, you will notice that the address of the payment page begins with https//www… This “-S” is the “-S” of Secure which means secure in English.

You will also find at the top of your browser, next to the URL, a green pictogram symbolizing a padlock, also informing you that you are on a completely secure web page.

What about secure payment via Paypal?

We also offer the option to pay for your order via PayPal: a fast, easy, and secure payment method. PayPal is a globally recognized secure payment solution used by tens of millions of people.

Using PayPal as a payment method is very simple. Simply open a free account at www.paypal.com in just a few clicks and securely register your card and bank account.

PayPal allows you to pay for your order securely, simply with your email address and password. Your banking information is then linked to your PayPal account.
