Everything you need to know about energy-saving swimming pool technology
Posté leEco-responsibility is at the heart of Piscines Desjoyaux's concerns, which offers a swimming pool and equipment that allow you to control and/or limit energy consumption.

Responsible and economical swimming pools
A swimming pool structure made from recycled polypropylene
Piscines Desjoyaux is the first manufacturer to offer a pool structure made from panels injected with recycled polypropylene since 1990. The panels are then assembled together during the pool's installation and are then reinforced and poured with concrete.
An economical and energy-efficient filtration unit
All Desjoyaux swimming pools are equipped with a pipeless filtration unit which has a double advantage:
– Limited pressure losses that prevent excess electricity consumption. The filtration units are equipped with filter pumps sized for the volume of water to be treated.
– Economical filter media cleaning: the water consumption required to clean the filter bag over a year for a 35 m3 pool is estimated at 1.1 m3 of water. This consumption is significantly lower than that required to clean a sand filter with a drain.
A French production plant
The CEO of Piscines Desjoyaux has always wanted to manufacture its swimming pools at the industrial site in La Fouillouse (42). Since the company was founded in 1969, the swimming pools have been manufactured in La Fouillouse.
The industrial site has continued to grow and today comprises 5 hectares of covered workshops:
– 2 workshops dedicated to injection: swimming pool structures, stairs, filtration units, retaining pads, discharge nozzles, projectors, etc.
– 1 workshop for the manufacture of pool coping stones and paving
– 1 workshop for the manufacture of liners
– 1 workshop specifically dedicated to the manufacture of swimming pool shelters.
This desire to offer its customers French production in order to maintain quality control is now desired by all manufacturers at a time when short supply chains are considerably improving environmental impact.
Pool equipment that optimizes energy management
In addition to the size and depth of swimming pools, which are 25% smaller than those built 30 years ago, swimming pool equipment helps limit or even reduce energy consumption.
Heating equipment
• Heat pumps
Say goodbye to energy-hungry electric heaters; heat pumps have coefficients of performance (the ratio between the amount of energy produced and the amount of energy used) that offer very good efficiency. This allows users to enjoy a comfortable water temperature for a longer season.
• Swimming pool shelters
In addition to their primary function of limiting access to the pool to avoid the risk of drowning (the shelters comply with the NF P 90309 safety standard), their greenhouse effect allows the water to be heated (up to 10°C more).
The Covers
• Bubble covers
Also known as a solar cover or isothermal cover, the bubble cover, in direct contact with the water thanks to the air mattress of the bubbles, limits heat loss during the night. As a result, it prevents water evaporation and therefore water additions during the season. When the cover is in place on the pool during the day, it also allows you to gain a few degrees.
• Roller shutters
Aside from roller shutters with polycarbonate slats, which act as real solar collectors and heat the pool water, shutters with PVC slats do not heat the pool water. However, like the bubble cover, they prevent the pool water from evaporating between day and night.
Automatic treatments
Automatic treatments such as regulators or salt electrolysers, in addition to the ease of use they provide to their owners, help to avoid water treatment problems and thus reduce operating costs related to water recovery.
